And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone;
I will make him a helper comparable to him.”

Eros Love from admin's blog

It's passionate, it's rapturous, it's euphoric, sexual type of love. It is important within a marriage relationship. Eros is erotic love and is illustrated in the Old Testament book of Song of Solomon. The poetry written in the Song of Solomon, many passages expresses the romantic, passionate love of King Solomon for his new bride; and hers for him.

Here are a few examples:

Oh, that he would kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your love is more delightful than wine.
The fragrance of your perfume is intoxicating;
your name is perfume poured out.
No wonder young women adore you.
Take me with you—let us hurry.
Oh, that the king would bring me to his chambers.

Song of Solomon 1:2-4

How beautiful you are and how pleasant,
my love, with such delights!
Your stature is like a palm tree;
your breasts are clusters of fruit.
I said, “I will climb the palm tree
and take hold of its fruit.”
May your breasts be like clusters of grapes,
and the fragrance of your breath like apricots.

Song of Solomon 7:6-8

Translations may differ but this is straight from the Bible. I think someone just turned up the heat! Sexuality is part of human existence and it is affirmed by Eros love.

Romantic love and physical passionate love should be experienced within the boundary of marriage. The Bible does not shy away from this steamy topic. We are sexual beings.

Eros love is to be honoured and enjoyed within marriage. Apostle Paul wrote,Now to the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.” 1 Corinthians 7:8-9

Eros love has been placed within us as part of God’s design. It’s a blessing intended to be shared in your marriage. We are to carry out Eros love between husband and wife.

Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice in the wife of your youth, a lovely deer, a graceful doe. Let her breasts fill you at all times with delight; be intoxicated always in her love. Proverbs 5:18–19

Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun. Ecclesiastes 9:9

Eros love is to be experienced within marriage. It is intimate, romantic and passionate. Eros love is not just to be celebrated but to be understood as there is symbolic reasoning behind it.

Sex is therefore not “just sex.” The Bible teaches that sex has meaning because marriage itself between a man and a woman is a beautiful picture of the gospel. Jesus, the Groom, sacrificially gives himself for his beloved bride, the church. Sex is ultimately a picture of this redeeming love that God has demonstrated by giving up his Son to save us.”- Ps. Nicholas Davis, Redemption Church, San Diego, California

The right time to enjoy Eros love will come, wait patiently. Seek God first and pray for a faithful, God-fearing spouse. Continue to honour God with your body:

Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! Or do you not know that he who is joined to a prostitute becomes one body with her? For, as it is written, “The two will become one flesh.” But he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with him. Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.  1 Corinthians 6:15–20

Some may be thinking, ‘I’ve had sex before marriage.’

God is gracious and forgiving. Turn away from all sexual immorality and turn to God.

Let’s continue to Walk in LOVE.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7
